With a degree in Environmental Science from the University of Washington I’ve had the privilege of working with plants for over 10 years. • Karen
    Karen Assistant Gardener

Karen Cheney comes to us from North Carolina.  Childhood visits to the Pacific Northwest made a lasting impression.  She returned to the area to complete her college education at the University of Puget Sound with a degree in English.   Her love of the outdoors led her to join the Student Conservation Association to rehabilitate and improve wilderness quality in the White Mountain Wilderness areas where she focused on trail work and wilderness medicinal first aid. While working in your garden, she finds plant identification and weeding of particular interest. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, backpacking, reading and cooking.

  • Kyle
    Kyle Gardener - Lead

A native of the Pacific Northwest, Kyle enjoys all that our area has to offer.  Growing up on a farm in Kitsap County, Kyle spent many hours at the local Farmer’s Market selling his family’s bounty of homegrown goods. His love of the outdoors paired with perseverance and hard work helped him to achieve his Eagle Scout badge. He received his Associates degree in Arts and Sciences from Olympic College and has spent time at UW studying Physics.  His desire to maintain a natural landscape that enhances both plant needs and aesthetic beauty is evident in his work. Outside of gardening, Kyle enjoys technology, outdoor activities, and community building.
